I recently was invited to participate in a paint-out for the area land trust here in CO. It was a wonderful experience to be able to paint in areas that will remain pristine. 15 of us artists painted on sites that the public was able to visit during the first-ever "Parade of No Homes". It always thrills me to be able to express the beauty of an area in paint and then to get direct feedback from the public. Partnering with a land trust is a win-win situation for a plein air painter as myself. I get to paint in areas that are so special...and the Trust benefits from the sale of my work.
We had interesting weather...wind, hail, and snow...in August! I discovered that my sun umbrella can withstand hail.
