Art Therapy

Painting along French Gulch Road, Breckenridge

I got out this afternoon and hunted out a place to paint. After 3 weeks of rain and then snow, I had been a little cranky. Being outside and painting on a warm beautiful fall day here in the mountains was so good for me. It made me happy to be painting while listening to the sounds of the aspens in the breeze as well as enjoying the colors that surrounded me. I felt so much better.
Many leaf peepers, hikers, and bicyclists stopped to watch me paint and it was fun showing them what I was seeing as I painted. Everyone was happy.
Being behind the brush as well as viewing the painting was great therapy for all.
I'll be back tomorrow.

Get Out There!

It's Aspen turning time and Monday I went out to paint them after returning from a walking tour of Ireland. Still feeling the jetlag, but being out surrounded by golden leaves and reflected light renewed my spirits. It felt good to get away from all the negative hype that the media is filling our minds with...painting truly is good for the soul!Nothing better than to be next to a rushing stream with the additional sound of the aspen leaves...a good painting came out of the experience too.
