Painting Pals

I always am reminded of things I take for granted while teaching my classes at the Arts District in Breckenridge.

For many painting is a luxury. Many of my students have had other priorities in life and taking a class is a treat for them. I always congratulate them on taking time to discover art. It does change their lives!
I also am reminded of the other positive reasons to make art a part of your life. You make friends. You encounter others who want to learn how to paint and are in that struggle to learn.

One such group came to Breckenridge to paint and to learn...from Shreveport, LA...where I grew up. They take painting lessons together and have become great friends. They celebrate each others accomplishments and they support each other in their work.

They reminded me of my special painting friends, who I get to paint with on occasion even though we now live miles apart. We support each other through the miracle of the internet when we can't be together in person. Having a support group for your art is so important. It helps you grow.
