Giving Back
Last year in a weak moment I agreed to help with the student art booth at the annual Mountain Art Gathering, an art sale to benefit the Summit Foundation of Summit County. There has been a lot more to do than I imagined: meeting with my student regularly throughout the year, then helping to design as well as set up the booth, and pricing. It has been a wonderfully rewarding experience. The exciting part was seeing the students taking charge of the booth and making their first sales. The looks on their faces were priceless. Each sale and compliment was exciting to them.
In retrospect I have received more back than I gave....the joy of seeing these students achieve their goals of running a booth at a highly prestigious show as well as selling made my time so worthwhile.
Sometimes we give our time out and regret every minute that we said "yes". I am so glad that I did say "yes" to this opportunity. It enriched my life.
