Another One Goes
I was sad to find out that Iris Gallery in Littleton, CO, a suburb of Denver is closing its doors in Feb. It was a beautiful space and had a wide variety of art and fine craft in all price ranges. The economy is tough, and my family has been affected by it. While in Denver I did see eating out and shopping going on ...and the coffee shops seem to be still thriving. I am wondering what will happen to art galleries? Will people begin to come back to them? Will people miss having art that has a spirit and soul in their homes?
This past week the International Ice Sculpture Contest took place in my town of Breckenridge. Lots of people attended...guess they liked the idea that they didn't have to buy the pieces, and it was outdoors without any intimidation...hmmmm...
